Feeling affection for the monsters

I have been thinking about monsters:

Monsters as beauty/terror.

Monsters as fear/admiration.

Monsters as awe/intimidation.

Monsters as abandonment/flourishing.

Monsters as inevitable/unrelenting.

I have been thinking about monsters and alterity; about the intersections between fear and admiration, tragedy and poetry; about how we come to feel awestruck, reactionary, powerless, and saturated with monstrous possibility, all at once.

Imagine this as a mood board, as a starting point for turning my vague philosophical interest into anthropological enquiry, as a visualisation of my thoughts. I am making friends with all the creatures that are hiding there under my bed.
